Fenugreek prides itself as a favourite among horses. It has a pleasant aroma and is used to tempt even the fussiest of eaters. Fenugreek is fed to stimulate appetite and improve condition in poor doers, picky eaters, or to tempt horses during convalescence.
When the ground seeds are soaked, a mucilage is formed. This mucilage can coat and soothe the gastrointestinal tract. It is a good supplement for horses of all ages but should not be fed to pregnant mares or mares suspected of having hormonal issues.
